'In My Name' is the first single of my upcoming debutalbum 'Why Don't We Give It A Try?'. For this album, I had conversations with changemakers. May these songs inspire you, like the stories inspired me. ‘In My Name’ came from a conversation with Julia Jouwe, an activist for a Free West Papua and co-founder of the Young Papua Collective. Her grandfather, Nicolaas Jouwe, had a very prominent rol in West Papua. When he passed away, Julia’s journey to fight for the same cause began. We spoke about collective accountability, the drive of young activists and the power of her family name.
